Gibson’s birthplace was the center of London. His mother is in marketing and his father is also an actor. The family settled in Greystones, then Stillorgan, and finally Donnybrook upon their return to Ireland. Gibson went to the University of Gonzaga. He enrolled at Trinity College Dublin to study philosophy, but he dropped out in 2016 after being cast in The OA.
